Early in 2006, KBDC was approached by these
homeowners about designing a kitchen for their four
bedroom colonial. They had been working with an
architect to update the house but were aware of
KBDC’s reputation for creative kitchen design, and
approached us for assistance on that part for the
project. After carefully listening to their
objectives, we suggested that we could offer input
on the entire project, not just the kitchen. The
homeowner’s goals were to: 1. Transform and
modernize their ordinary colonial home 2. Create a
new master suite with master bath and 3. Construct a
contemporary living space on the main floor of the
home. To achieve these goals, KBDC recommended
converting the rarely used formal living room into a
master suite. Pictured here is the award winning
master bath which houses a generous two-person
shower outlined by glass block with separate his/her
vanities and sumptuous walk-in wardrobe complete
with vaulted ceiling and skylights. The floor of the
shower features a pebbled shower floor, wall-mounted
body sprays. Warming up the bathroom is a heated
towel radiator and heated floor.
