All ticket sale and silent auction proceeds from this year’s
tour will again benefit the “Better Beginnings” fund for
Neonatal Care of Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center. The
“Better Beginnings” Fund works to:
• Purchase vital medical equipment for the NICU
• Fund education and professional development for the NICU staff
• Support environmental needs for the NICU
• Maintain visitation rooms for patients and their families

Experienced Kitchen & Bath Designer
Job Description:
Fast-paced, innovative, high-end kitchen and bath design/build
firm seeks to hire an experienced kitchen & bath designer with a
proven track record to join our team in West Hartford, CT. We
are a steadily expanding company, committed to excellence in
everything we do. We currently have offices in Bantam and West
Hartford, CT. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years
experience successfully designing and selling kitchen and bath
projects, be proficient in using AutoCAD, and know the
remodeling process. The designer we seek is driven to succeed,
self motivated, creative, focused, mature, detail-oriented,
customer-service focused, an excellent communicator (both
written and verbal skills), capable of multi-tasking and
appreciates the value of working for a sophisticated, well run
organization. CKD or ACKD preferred. The successful candidate

Seminars
Spring Forward: KBDC Continuing Education Seminars
This spring look for our popular continuing education seminars
to be held in our showroom located at 1000 Farmington
Avenue in West Hartford Center. Seminars
include: Kitchen Planning Trends and Guidelines, Bathroom
Planning Guidelines and Design Tips for Applying Principles of
Universal Design.
These informative programs are offered through West Hartford
Continuing Education Tuesday evenings during the month of March
and through Farmington and Simsbury Continuing Education Tuesday
evenings in April. Seminars take place from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.

We're Moving
As of May 1st 2008, KBDC will have moved from West Hartford
Center to 139 Vanderbilt Avenue in the heart of West Hartford's
Design District. This new facility will give us much needed
parking, storage and expansion space. The innovative showroom
promises to feature all the latest styles in kitchen & bath
design, including the emerging trend towards a more contemporary
aesthetic and a working demonstration kitchen, along with luxury
brand appliances like Wolf and Subzero. Keep an eye out for
another KBDC grand opening in the near future.

Francine Taylor Grand Opening
November 11th marked the much-anticipated grand opening of
Francine Taylor our new home furnishings store and interior
design studio. Housed in the recently renovated historic Bantam
Fire Company building (next door to our Bantam office) at 822
Bantam Road, Francine Taylor will feature home furnishings, art
and antiques, custom lighting, fashion and accessories, plus
interior design and space planning services. Business hours are
Monday, Thursday through Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.,
Sunday 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., closed on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Plan to stop in and visit with Design Manager, Francine Fabbri.
Francine is a noted interior designer who has worked in
Litchfield County for 10 years. Having her as a member of our
design team allows us to offer complete design services from
initial concept to construction straight through to choosing
paint and window treatments for your newly remodeled space.

Adjunct Professor
Adjunct Professor at the University of New Haven
Lorey Cavanaugh, CKD/CBD will be teaching her third semester at
the University of New Haven in the Department of Visual and
Performing Arts in the spring of ’08. Lorey was the creator of a
pilot program in kitchen and bath design with the university and
based on its success the course has been added to the core

For the second straight year, Kitchen & Bath Design Consultants,
LLC (KBDC) has been named a top 500 remodeling company by
Qualified Remodeler Magazine. Each year Qualified Remodeler
Magazine recognizes remodeling companies across the nation for
their significant contributions and sustained success in their
community. The Top 500 list is the longest on-going recognition

Design Awards
Signature Kitchens & Baths magazine, a national publication
featuring the most innovative kitchen and bath designs, has
featured Kitchen & Bath Design Consultants (KBDC) in its 9th
Annual Design Awards issue (Fall 2007). The issue features a
select group of designers from across the country, each judged
by a panel of professionals. KBDC was awarded 3rd place for its
design of a contemporary kitchen and 2nd place for a recent
master bathroom project. The images featured in the fall issue
of the magazine highlight KBDC’s masterful designs and showcases
the breathtaking results of a kitchen and master bath project
constructed for local homeowners.

As a female business owner, it is important for KBDC Owner Lorey
